Kansas City, MO – [11/12/2024] – Shelter KC Rescue Mission is excited to announce a new partnership with 15 and the Mahomies Foundation. Their generous $15,000 donation will support Shelter KC’s annual Thanksgiving Family Feast, providing Thanksgiving dinners for more than 200 Kansas City families in need.

For almost 75 years, Shelter KC has served as a haven for Kansas City’s homeless men and women, offering them “freedom from the past and hope for the future.” Through our faith-driven approach, we welcome those who are poor, hungry, homeless, and hurting with open arms. We believe in the life-changing love of Jesus Christ and see its impact daily as we help people transform their lives.

The Thanksgiving Family Feast is a cherished tradition at Shelter KC, a day when we come together to offer dignity, connection, and warmth to families facing hardship. Thanks to the support of 15 and the Mahomies, this year’s event will allow us to extend that reach even further, delivering not just a meal but the comfort and hope of a welcoming community.

“We are incredibly grateful to 15 and the Mahomies Foundation for this support,” said Shelter KC Executive Director Eric Burger. “Their partnership is an inspiring reminder that we are all part of the same community, responsible for lifting one another up. This donation ensures that families who may be struggling this holiday season will have a Thanksgiving meal to enjoy together, and a renewed sense of hope for the future.”

Established in 2019, the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation is committed to enriching the lives of children and families through initiatives focused on health, wellness, and community support.

This year’s Thanksgiving Family Feast will take place on November 23rd, with volunteers from both Shelter KC and 15 and the Mahomies Foundation preparing meal boxes, building connections, and creating a day of celebration for families in Kansas City.
